Configuration of the Edimax AR-7287WnA Router

Postauthor: peters » 2020-11-27, 23:52

Hello everyone.
A few years old Tp-link router burned down (I personally advise against this router) in less than 5 years two pieces went to the trash.
But that's not the point.
I bought the Edimax model in the title and the net does not work.
I do whatever it takes. I have Netia on Tpsa links.
I reset the network cards through the appropriate commands and still nothing.
The ADSL light is on but the Internet is not.
In the meantime, I found a new Netgear router that is over 10 years old and the configuration was done in a moment. And it works, but the speed is no longer knocking.
I have a problem with this Edimax on any laptop. Everything is fine on Netgear. But the Internet light is also off.
What is the problem here someone mobile but also advised me over the phone? He thanked for attention.

I assume that the username and password are correct in the ADSL configuration?

From the description, it is actually not known what is not working because "the internet indicator is also not on" does not tell us anything.

Yes,
Login:[email protected]
password: CPT-M..
VPI = 0
VCI=35
When I enter the Netia parameters on Tpsa links, most of the settings are entered by themselves.
After 2 days of setting up, I gave up.

Encapsulation = PPPoA= VCMux
regarding UBR I don't know where it is. And is it in the yard? If it is one parameter then I can only set VCMux. Will check again in a moment.

Orange telephone lines (BSA, LLU) 0/35 - PPPoA - VC/MUX

Set your DNS hard:
Primary DNS: 62.233.233.233
Secondary DNS: 87.204.204.204

Thank you. Just sometimes (windows looks for DNS) when I'm doing a diagnosis of what's wrong.
I'm not exactly where this router is, but someone tell me what about the UBR, as far as I remember, there was nothing like that when I logged in to the edimax router via 192.168.2.1?

Colleagues, the hard change of DNS servers did nothing, hands fall.
I typed in Preferred and Alternate. As my colleague said above.
The windows diagnostics message says:
This computer is probably configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding.

It turned out by the IT specialist called by me that there is no IP assigned and no other parameter.
It was clearly visible through the entrance to the Edimax Logs.
You can also see through the command line.
Edi's router is going for a turnaround. What to buy I do not know.
Something similar, just a different model.

I recommend TP-Link TD-W8970, it synchronizes well, to this day I use it only as a print server and media server. And I think I've had it for 8 years ;)

Thank you but I don't want any TP-Link anymore.
It aims for something like this:
Tenda D301-V2.
And I think I'll buy this one, if it breaks, it won't be a pity.
https://www.komputronik.pl/product/3416 ... gJ_XfD_BwE

I'd love to copy Linksys, but they don't make ADSL lines anymore, because I can't ""to find"".

https://www.linksys.com/pl/p/P-E1700/
Or some D-Link up to PLN 200, but what I found is about PLN 400.
D-LINK DSL-3682 router
Or a D-Link DSL-3788/E Router. This probably won't be good, although it has an RJ11 plug.

Does your colleague know that there is voltage in the teletechnical network? And theoretically, turning off the power does little to protect ADSL devices, because they can be damaged by the RJ11 port. I've had many such cases. Especially villages and column substructure. Over time, they began to mount a lightning arrester on them (vertical wire at the top, hoop iron to the ground).
If you smoke TP-Links, worry about Pentagram, Asus and whatever else you buy.

Tp-Links somehow work even on weak lines, the fact that they "burn" usually results from overvoltages on telephone or power lines, as a colleague mentioned earlier radius. Of course, you can use overvoltage protection on the side of the telephone line and from the house power supply, but these costs often exceed the value of several routers.

For weak line only Broadcom chipset. No Lantiqs, Trendchips, Ralinks, etc.
I don't see a distinction between versions of this Tenda, but it looks like it may be on a Broadcom processor: https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/Tenda_D301

Finally something concrete you guys wrote, thank you.
I bought it, set it up and it works:
Tenda D301 v2. How many will I don't know.
It's a pity that this Edimax didn't want to work, my IT colleague was sitting and couldn't do anything.
What logs he wanted to show me but it was not going to do.
I typed something on the command line but no response. Does anyone know what command to type to see it?
There is supposed to be data exchange between the computer and the router and that's what I would like to do.
Regarding the burned TP-Link, it most likely broke something through RJ11, i.e. somewhere along the cable from TPSA.
